Ditching planes for trains: How much CO2 could you save?
We know that per minute and per mile, flying is the most carbon-polluting action we can take. And, with no ‘sustainable air travel’ options available, our only option for addressing the harmful impact of air travel is simply to fly less.
However, this doesn't need to mean stopping traveling altogether. We are incredibly lucky in the UK that so many amazing places are accessible by train which creates significantly less carbon emissions than flying.
Scroll through the images below to see just how much of a difference you could make by choosing trains over planes for your next European get-away.
We’ve found that one of the main barriers to people taking lower-carbon travel options is that they’re usually slower- the extra time spent travelling eats into precious annual leave. That’s why we created Climate Perks, an employer scheme offering paid “travel days” so you can take lower carbon travel to your holiday destination, without missing out on your leisure time.
