Stride and Ride 100 – Getting Sponsored
Congratulations! By pledging to stride or ride 100km (or 50km, or 25km, or 109038548km - whatever you decided!) you're helping to tackle climate change, make public transport safe and keep yourself and our streets healthy.
Now for the hard bit - sticking with it! We know keeping up with a pledge like this requires a lot of determination and effort, so why not get a little help from your friends and family by asking them to sponsor you. That way, you can spread the word about Stride and Ride, get motivated to keep moving, and raise some money to inspire even more climate action.
There are loads of ways to organise sponsorship, but we recommend JustGiving! Here are the 5 simple steps you need to get yourself started:
1. Follow this link to our page and click ‘Start fundraising’ (you will need to login or sign up to JustGiving - don’t worry it’s free).
2. Select ‘doing your own thing’ from the list of options and put in the distance you have chosen.
3. Fill in the details of your event including event type (we suggest cycle or walk but it’s your pledge), event name (get creative or just go for ‘Stride and Ride 100’), and your page web address (we suggest using your name!).
4. Click ‘create your page’ and set your fundraising target!
5. Share your page with friends and family so that they can sponsor you.
You are now all set up and ready to start your challenge! The JustGiving website has lots of tips and tricks to help you recruit more sponsors and share your successes.
