Goodbye messages
Very sad to see you go Alice! It goes without saying that your presence in the office will be missed. I know I only came to the office a handful of times, but when I did it was a pleasure to work with you and yes I will miss your sweet treats. I hope your colleagues appreciate them as much as I do (which is impossible). All the best. Akwesi X
Oh Alice - I’m going to miss you loads. I can’t really imagine Possible without you! Your pro baking skills, your absurd knowledge of just-about everything, and your ability to balance being radical and making sure the charity runs smoothly and that everyone follows the processes and principles - has actually been really inspiring (sorry - very long sentence). I’ve really appreciated having you as the director of the comms team - always making sure we’re ok! And you’ve also been so important in keeping the awesome team vibes and culture at Possible alive (carrying us through a full rebrand and a global pandemic!). I’m excited to see what you make happen at Welcome! Stay in touch xx Han xx
Alice! It has been a huge pleasure working with you over the past decade or so, particularly at Possible in the last couple of years. You can rest assured that I will carry the “blog post” torch when you’re gone, though I can’t promise anything on My Enduring Love of Title Case. I know you’re going to have a wonderful time at the new job, and I know you’re going to be amazing at it too. I hope we have the chance to work together in the future! Good luck! 📈- Duncan
This place just will not be the same without you Alice. You’re one of the most-with-it people here who seemingly has an endless tome of knowledge within your brain that is just unimaginable! You spot errors and things that make no sense when no one else can and from miles off. I can’t list all of the things I’ve learnt from you in just over a year because I think I’d end up at about ten pages but it’s all invaluable. I know that I wouldn’t have settled into this role as well as I did without you as a line manager and at the helm of the comms team! You truly are one of our stalwart spokespeople who makes climate change accessible to all, and I know you’ll continue to use that for years to come and to the huge benefit of the movement. Hope our paths cross again (hope you’ll excuse the cliché) but for now, I know you’ll smash it in your new role! Alex xx
Alice, we’re all going to really really miss you! You’ve brought so much to the Possible team at every level - not just your amazing knowledge of climate comms and climate science, your vegan baking and a rigorous distinction between blogs and blogposts, but also your shaping of the organisational culture and the way you’ve supported colleagues. We’ve really appreciated you, thanks so much for everything, hope the new job is amazing! Ali xxx
Alice, you're an inspiration. Thank you so much for being such a badass! Really appreciate you looking out for the team in all the little ways. We’ll miss your presence in the office but excited to see all the great stuff you’ll be doing at Wellcome! Love Hirra xxx
Alice, you’ve been such an inspiration to work with. Your talent and compassion blows my mind, and I’m very grateful to have met you and worked with you. Hopefully our paths will cross again in the future. Possible won’t be the same without you, but you’ve left such an incredible legacy. Wellcome are very lucky to have you on board. Best of luck in the new role! Hannah K xxx
Alice, I’m going to really miss you being a part of the Possible team. You bring such warmth and good vibes to the whole organisation all the while being a badass who seems totally on top of everything. It’s been so great to get to know you over the last two years, and you never fail to amaze me with your incredible baking, your knowledge of just about everything, and your incredibly stylish dress sense! Thanks so much for all of the wonderful knowledge, culture and guidance you’ve brought to Possible, I hope you have an amazing time at Welcome, they’re lucky to have you. All the best, Imi xx
Alice! It has been such a privilege to work with you over this past year. I have learnt so much from your endless bank of knowledge. Being at Possible has been such a great first career experience for me, and much of the credit goes to you heading the comms team and the organisation during my time here. You’re such a vibey and kind person to have around and you never fail to have an interesting story to tell :). Thank you for everything, and best of luck in the new role! No doubt you will smash it. - Kai
Well it’s web log = weblog = blog…so it would seem the ‘blog’ is the journal and the ‘blogpost’ is the entry…but maybe no one really knows…and that’s scant my knowledge of the subject exhausted - could’ve Googled it I guess. Sadly I’ve not been here long enough to get to know you, but it’s still been an honour, and I can share others' sense of the void you will leave! I’m sure you’ll knock it out of the park at Wellcome and do more great things. Dermot
Hello Alice…and sadly also goodbye :( I have hugely appreciated learning from you in the last couple of years - how to get to grips with properly planning a project/campaign and what is and isn’t an opportunity worth following up are two things that spring to mind - and your brilliance will bring great things to Wellcome I’m sure! Right, I’m off to write a blog now. All the best, Rob
Alice. I’m so sad that you’re leaving, but extremely happy to see you moving to something as amazing and well suited as this role at the Wellcome. Working with you has been one of the real privileges of working at Possible, and (don’t tell my ex managers this) but you’re the best manager I’ve ever had, and the one I’ve most admired. Thanks so much for investing so much in me, and being so generous with your time and expertise, not least your baking expertise. Russell x
So sad your leaving Alice, as
I’m forever in ore of your Baked Good’s which you gift to the team, consistent amazingness for our pallets ;)
you’re ear-rings are always so cool -
Combing a great Vibe as well as a tad more climate knowledge than all the B.B.C. put together surely
Its not going to be the same at Possible without you, wishing you the best Luck at your new roll, you’ve earnt it! Rafe x
Dr Alice Bell, the time with you was swell, and like a wave it could be turbulent e.g. Sackler left nothing to be spent.
But the wave went up, and the name climate hub, was thankfully canned; and we did a great rebrand.
Always valued your knowledge and joy planting a hedge. Your know how gave me confidence, when some things didn't make sense.
So your input will be missed but we've all had the practice, of following your tips and guides and we're better equipped for changing tides. Patrik x
Alice, it was really great working with you and thanks for being a lovely peer manager. I know we worked together for a relatively short time but your insight and knowledge of the organisation was invaluable. You will be greatly missed! Wishing you all the best in your new role. Best wishes Jemini
Alice, I've put off writing this but the time has finally come. I'm really sad you're leaving, this you know. I'm also super excited for you and your new role and I can't wait to hear all about it. This is so good for you!! You've made Possible what it is today ❤️ Let's stay in touch. Elise xxx
Dear Alice, it has been wonderful working with you in our wonderful comms team. I am going to miss your endless bank of fun facts, excellent baked goods and having an anecdote for every situation! The comms team have thrived under your guidance, always pushing us to tell interesting stories and you will sorely be missed. Best of luck at Wellcome - you are going to be fantastic there and they are very lucky to have you. Lots of love, Ro x
Alice, you have elevated Possible with your actions, words, insight, intelligence, humour and generosity. When I arrived at Possible in November 2020, I could see all the work you had put in during the Great Lockdown to keep everyone communicating and included (Janutree!) despite being suddenly, physically, cut off from each other. It made it so easy to join in all the way from sunny Birmingham. I consider myself so lucky to have landed my dream job here and your leadership has been such a major influence on that. We will all be following your exciting work at Wellcome with interest. And please say hi next time you’re in Brum. Sandra x
Such a shame for us that you’re leaving, but hooray for going onto bigger and better things with Wellcome, where I’m sure you’ll be as marvellous as you’ve been at Possible. I still need to trouble you for a signed copy of your book though… Anzir
Ahh Alice, I'm so gutted that we're losing you, but man we did pretty well to hold on to you for so long! Wellcome are very lucky to have you - can’t wait to see what you do! Thanks for fighting the good fight :fist::skin-tone-3: I'll really miss office chats with you (and your fancy baked stuff obvs). Don't disappear on us! Lots of love, Amita xx
