Frequent Flyer Levy
Webinar for engineers.
8th April 2021, 12pm.
Climate action charity Possible invite you to attend an online discussion with our aviation campaigner, Ali, and Leo, our director of innovation who presented the frequent flyer levy to members of the citizens assembly earlier this year (and got them on board). We'll discuss why we think demand reduction is needed to tackle aviation emissions, what a frequent flyer levy is and why we think it’s the way to go, our campaign for a frequent flyer levy and our other work on aviation, particularly on a fair transition for people working in the sector.
The majority of the session will be focussed on responding to your questions, thoughts and ideas. Ali and Leo are ready to get into the nitty gritty of how the frequent flyer levy could work in practice, but we’re also really keen to hear your perspective, especially on:
What contribution do you think aircraft designers and manufacturers can make to cutting emissions from aviation?
What do you think about the aviation industry's approach to the climate crisis?
Would you agree with a frequent flyer levy as part of the action needed to tackle aviation emissions fairly?
How do you see the aviation industry's future in a world with tightening emissions budgets?
