Working with the natural world so that it can lock up carbon and build defences against climate impact

Over the last few hundred years, our relationship with nature has been characterised by conquering land and taking its resources. The idea that nature is somehow separate from us, and available to be exploited, has landed us in the biggest crisis to face humanity - the climate emergency.

Working with the natural world rather than against it is one of the most powerful things we can do to stop climate change. Restoring natural systems will unleash the power of plants to suck carbon out of the atmosphere and enrich landscapes, increase wildlife and protect us from extreme weather.
