Make sure your MP joins us in Parliament this May
It’s simple - the government needs to take urgent action to address the climate impact of air travel. Our recent report found that the government’s strategy to tackle aviation emissions simply won’t work. The strategy relies on techno-fixes which are decades away from being ready (if they ever actually are!), and will not result in the reductions in carbon emissions that the government claims. Without policy change, flight numbers will continue to increase, pumping out huge amounts of harmful emissions, and driving us into climate chaos.
Despite thousands of us sending our MPs this report, we haven’t seen the change we need, or any evidence that policy makers are reviewing their dangerous plan to increase in air travel.
So, on Wednesday 22nd May, we’ll head to Parliament to speak with MPs face to face.
In partnership with Green Alliance, Safe Landing, and No Airport Expansion, we have organised a drop-in event, inside the Houses of Parliament, as a convenient and efficient way for MPs to get up to speed on the different policy options for addressing the climate impact of air travel.
Help us get your MP in the room
We’ve emailed all MPs inviting them to attend the event. But as a UK-wide charity, we have limited influence over your MP’s choices. As a voter in your MPs constituency, however, you have influence. Will you email your MP, letting them know that you care about tackling aviation emissions, and asking them to attend our event?

While it’s good news that your MP has said they’ll attend, this is no guarantee (we know from experience that MPs don’t always turn up to these things, even if they’ve said they will).
